Hello to all of you,
I wished to get some of your knowledge and experiences concerning the
timing of massage + exercice and cranio-sacral-therapist/ chiropractor
BEFORE clipping;
please forgive if I put emphasis on some words, I just need to be
clarified myself:-)
Situation of basis: Most of the time, here there is one session of
CST/chiro BEFORE and then another session of CST/chiro AFTER the
clipping; AND exercises are counseled to be started "before" (I would
say from the "clinical diagnostis" until the appointment with the one is
is licensed to clip the frenulum). and then the massages/exercises are
continued during 5 to more days (depending of the clinical situation).
From some families and relationships, I got the following information,
as there seems to be another protocol including: 3 CST/chiro BEFORE + 2
to 3 weeks of massage/exercises BEFORE, then clipping then
massages/exercises.
My questions are: do you know more about it? are those 3 sessions
cst/chiro + 3 weeks massages/exercises BEFORE clinically justified? Is
it really better? Of course the baby will need massages and exercises
even before, it is important; at the same time, my concern is also: how
to put a family in front of this protocol without putting all the thing
in jeopardy when feeding at breast is horribly painfull? Currently I am
facing 2 families who are "horrified" for this long time before.
If some of you have this protocol (or others) to share I would be glad
to get them , I read a lot, but I do not remember having read such
particular protocols recently and even when reading a lot, one can miss
something. And I would be happy to enlarge my knowledge.
Thanks in advance,
Breast regards,
Françoise Coudray, IBCLC
