antibiotics for Mastitis at 3 months, also began taking Lecithin at this
point. sometimes she is engorged and sometimes calls it plugged ducts.
Today mother presented with 2 inch by 2 inch hard painful lump in right
breast. States she has one good week with no lumps/plugged
ducts/engorgement, followed by one week of painful breast. "
my thoughts:
explore for oversupply, ineffective emptying - latch, tongue tie? got
"lazy" with latch technique, or oamer led to baby sliding down or clamping?
how often are breasts being emptied, does baby sleep a long stretch? is mom
working? does it correlate wtih missed pump sessions? Does she use
compression to help with breast drainage. She can also try lymphatic breast
massage, I found two good videos online, but don't have them at my
fingertips. I recommend taking probiotics. Consider culture of her milk,
clean catch mid stream.
