But I question its value to everyday beekeeping. I guess, if I knew what my Winterloss was, comparing my numbers to the overall could tell me something.

but I think you might be comparing apples to oranges. You take your hives south for the winter. Do you want to compare your winter losses to some backyard beekeeper with a couple of TBH's in Maine who didn't treat them? It just seems to me to be another hustle with lots of data that means nothing in reality.
