I've been asked to provide some updates for "Advice Nurses" (for those outside the US, this is the term used, at least in my area of the US, for the staff who answer the telephone for either hospitals or physician's offices). I have never done that job.
I was given the Protocols they use, and found some serious gaps in the instructions (GET PLENTY OF REST as #1 in "how to increase milk production" for one...)
I also realized that with all the questions they ask, mostly "closed ended" questions, it is unlikely they will be able to learn about the childbirth and what the mom has already tried...
So - I thought I'd pose the request...
If any of you have done this job - or have taught this type of group -
Would you please provide me with some insights/suggestions?
Thanks...
