PTP: Is anyone aware of any female hormonal links with "Dopa Responsive
Dystonia"? Was contacted by a mother who has found her symptoms improve
during pregnancy, increase soon after delivery, but improve again within a
few weeks - about the time lactation becomes established. She's been
pregnant or breastfeeding for most of the last several years, but her 3rd
child stopped around Christmas. Within a couple of weeks, her symptoms
began increasing again. She's wondering if anyone is aware of a link re:
female hormones and symptoms, and whether any hormonal contraception may be
associated with decreased symptoms? (She takes Levodopa and has for a
number of years.) I suggested she find a gyno-endocrinologist but said I'd
ask a broader group too.

Thank you in advance for any info you may have!
