I also had engorgement after premature birth many years ago and it was very
distressing to have milk dripping into the bath and no baby.
There were no suggestions of care for that except for taking Epsom salts
which is unpleasant.
Today I would suggest cold cabbage leaves, not for just ten minutes as we
suggest for regular engorgement, but used continuously. The short period is
intended to relieve pain and engorgement without affecting milk supply but
continuous use, replacing the cold leaves every half hour would soon dry up
the milk. Also drinking mint tea or taking sage.
