Dear Lactnet Friends:

Thank you for sharing this interesting article, Ms Gordon.

However can we apply  the conclusion that that flaxseed should be limited
in lactation for humans?  I have two questions about this.

One) the research was done on rats.  Two) nursing mothers who have been
eating flaxseed have been part of our population for a while, and I am not
aware of anything showing up. Right now, the risks are hypothetical; one
source advises to avoid flaxseed in pregnancy and lactation "to be on the
safe side."

The title of the article is: "Maternal flaxseed diet during lactation
changes adrenal function in adult male offspring."
