Just to clarify, I'm never going to tell a mom in an instructional session
that she needs to avoid this, that, or the other thing in her diet. I will
mention avoiding "extreme" diets and doing her best to eat what she knows
nourishes her, because she'll feel better eating well. But if a mom calls
me about a perceived crash in milk supply, I go down a pretty sizeable list
of possibilities. I feel that anecdotal evidence is enough for me to
include a strict low carb diet as one of those possibilities. One great
catchphrase I learned from LLL was "Some moms have found. . ."
I strongly resist the idea of not mentioning this possibility to a mom in
need, when she can take it from there and decide what to do with it.
