Dear Lactneters,I am not finding any current (within the last 5 yrs.) studies that show the benefit of using antibiotic treatment for persistent thrush when the usually antifungal meds are not resolving the breast pain. I have been working with a lady who has had some success with the antifungal meds, but it is only temporary and the deep breast pain returns. She also has recurring blebs. I suggested she might ask the physician to treat as if bacterial, but the physician isn't convinced of that course of treatment. I thought if I could provide some evidence-based studies, she might consider it. Does anyone know of any studies I could use? Thank you in advance for any help you can give.Linda Vawter, RN, IBCLCCalifornia, USA
