Scary indeed, Jacquie.  
While I have heard personal accounts of amazingly rapid turnarounds I suspect this is not the norm?  You will certainly rest easier if you could see the dyad again tomorrow.  A follow-up with her doctor re management of her diabetes is a good plan.  Let us know what happens.
