I searched the archives and found one post and one response regarding a
mother reporting a smell when she breastfed. I have a mom who is having
the same issue. She says she smells like onions when she nurses her two
week old. She says it smells gross! She says her baby's face smells like
onions after nursing and her non-nursing two year old has the smell too
after snuggling with mom. Her sister said she smelled it on the baby too.
No supplements, medicines, new foods, etc in her diet.. The one response
from the archives is it could be the secretions from the montgomery
glands.
I've searched my reference books and LLI website and no mention of this.
Any thoughts? Any ideas for resolving the issue.
Thank you for your response.
