There is no need to stop breastfeeding because of these anti-infectives.
I am not sure what Defalgyn is. If it is acetaminophen, the mom may still breastfeed.
Make sure to monitor the baby for any possible side effects.
Why was the baby put on formula, which has now screwed up the baby's microbiome, which would have been maintained by totally breastfeeding and protected the breastfed baby even more with the mother having to take antibiotics? I am dumbfounded.
Please stop pumping and dumping and restart breastfeeding immediately.
The benefits of breastfeeding plus the benefits of the medications seem to far outweigh the risks of not breastfeeding, aka, formula, plus the risks of the drugs.
