To be honest jane, I don't think this one is a case of Follow the Money. I think it is just ignorance. the authours are psychologists and have truckloads of details on the tests administered and their respective strengths and limitiations. Sadly they don't know a B from a bullsfot when it comes to breastfeeding. Now I wouldn't dream of writing about forjlift trucks, unless I was at least working closely with someone who drove forklift trucks, but the authors are unaffected by modesty.

I cannot remember who devised the criteria of mastery as :
Unconscious incompetence
Conscious incompetence
Conscious competence
Unconscious competence.

Well these authors are at the stage of Unconscious incompetence in relation to breastfeeding. The yhave no idea of the scale of their ignorance.
