Hi Char,
We have incorporated the handout written by Jan Barger (with her permission) " Baby's Second Night" into our education packet. Our staff has found it to be very helpful in preparing patients for the realities of parenthood, esp ially with cluster feeding and fussiness.

Along with trying to work on hospital routines such as clustering care to lessen maternal fatigue and "quiet times" on the unit, what suggestions do you have on educational materials for staff and parents? For example, how to work with a baby when they are having a fussy evening/night?
