Dear Jan,
There is so much more we need to know about this baby. What is the gestational age? The birthweight? Is he an infant of a diabetic mom? How was his birthweight? How old is he? Has he returned to birthweight yet? How long did it take? What is his overall tone? And Mom, is this her first? Did she have Breast changes during pregnancy? Forceps with vaginal, or csection delivery? Milk came in what day? Any engorgement? All of this is important to know when evaluating how/ what effect forceps( or vacuum) could have.

Sleepy baby, slow weight gain and very shallow latch, once on inefficient and disorganised suck. He is slowly gaining wt as mother is expressing and giving him EBM. Tried different feeding positions - seemd to do best in football hold, but still not a good feed. Do we just wait for him to recover, grow and hope he will eventually latch well or is there something we can do in the mean time. Thanks All
