1. I keep reading on Lactnet and elsewhere about excess lipase causing soapy-smelling milk, but I have never seen or read a study on this topic. What studies have been done?
2. Online education in general is inferior to in-person education. There is quite a bit of evidence for this. Both retention of information and pass rates are lower for those who take an online class vs. an in-person class. The only benefit that I can see for online education is that you can reach more people, but quantity does not equal quality. I have personal experience with taking an online class followed by an in-person class with similar information, and the difference in the experience was striking. It may be cheaper for a hospital to use an online BFHI class, but it's a lower value for the money.
