NPR's* program Science Friday had a program on the infant microbiome and breastfeeding, formula feeding, mixed feeding, and mode of birth. Juliet Madan and Ann Hoen spoke about their study. Among other findings, they found that mixed fed babies had microbiomes more similar to exclusively formula fed babies than to breastfeeding babies.
