hello
I learned one interesting habit from a Chinese grand-mother that is also probably related to tongue-ties... in that family, the baby girls (i.e. newborn girls) have their nipples gently rolled and very lightly pulled in order to make it easier to feed her baby later, as a mom.
I do not know if research showed that ankyloglossia is more prevalent in asian family, but here, we see this situation more frequently in asian families (or with at least one parent with asian roots). Intuitively, I would say that this "old practice", if done safely, could be helpful for the future baby.
Are there any information available about this practice?
Same question about the prevalence of tongue-ties I some peoples or families?
