Dear Lactnetters,
I need your help. Over the past few months, our hospital has been switching to delaying the newborn's bath until after 24 hours. We have had great success! Our breastfeeding rates are up, the nurses voiced concerns initially that it would create staffing problems, but found the transition to be smooth and it created no such problems. I've seen a lot less hypothermia, too.

But now we are being challenged by a few Pediatricians who are unhappy. They say, among other things that no one else is doing this. They want a list of hospitals who are doing delayed bathing.
