Ruth,
I have worked with several mothers with EDS, one who's hypermobility and dislocations were very severe. She no longer requires any medication since making significant dietary changes, eliminating all pro-inflammatory foods and supplementing with nutrients that optimize her functioning and support methylation pathways. In fact, all of the EDS moms I have worked with have experienced improvement in this way. There is a fantastic website here:

Subject: support for mother with Ehlers Danlos
Dear Wise women,
I have a client that I am seeing (permission to post) with Ehler
Danlos (hypermobility classification), which is causing her severe
joint pain and frequent dislocations with the need for bracing. Her
rheumatologist and other health professionals do not see any reason
to discontinue breastfeeding. Her baby is now 12 weeks and growing well.
Breastfeeding is going well. We have discussed different holds,
manners of play, etc. However, she would like to know if there is
anything else that might help. She is seeing an occupational
therapist as well and does make use of splints and braces.
Thanks,
Ruth Berkowitz, IBCLC, Grad. Dip counselling
