Dear Lactnet Friends:
I wrote this poorly. Here is my correction, in capital letters.
What every mom needs:
1) birth skin-to-skin with newborn
2) unrestricted access between baby and mamma's breast with many, many (12
or more PER DAY) breastfeeds in the first few days
3) loving and adequate follow-up....an infant weight check at 2 or 3 days
after hospital discharge along with a maternal assessment of comfort.
