For those who think TT is a fad, overdxd, etc, maybe the compromise of the airway will be compelling. (Guilleminault has the most impeccable credentials in the world of sleep medicine--and has been looking at the connection to SIDS as well.)
Brand new paper:
Short Lingual Frenulum and Obstructive Sleep Apnea in Children: Huang, Quo, Berkowski and Guilleminault
Conclusion: Short lingual frenulum may lead to abnormal orofacial
growth early in life, a risk factor for development of SDB (sleep disordered breathing). Careful
surveillance for abnormal breathing during sleep should occur in
the presence of short lingual frenulum.

This is why I screen all of my clients for SDB and have for 2 years now.
