Interesting about the vinegar odor...  
May sound cruel or cavalier, but he can do fine without teeth, but not fine with attacks on his body by various allergic reactions.  She may not get both (sound teeth and Breastfeeding) until they find out cause.  
I'd be be sure and give the zyrtec every night, also ask about use of singulair (montelukast). He seems to be heading down the road to nastier allergies  like asthma :-( Use of Singulair may head that off a while. Pat in SNJ
