Hi all,
Hope your summer went well!!!
A mom asks me if this is true (I quote her):
"I came across something interesting in the book which says children who
are exclusively breastfed for long periods sometimes demonstrate little or
no extra iron storage on blood testing .When a breastfed infant is
supplemented with iron, this binds up the remaining lactoferrin in the
breast milk and prevents it from performing its other chief duty which is
providing immune protection."
I had not heard about this. Any light to shed?
Warmly,
Kika
