I am looking for the most recent references re: newborn stooling patterns. I have searched various textbooks (by well known authors) and attempted to search the AAP and ABM sites (btw, I find those sites difficult to navigate) for this info. Most, if not all, seem to agree on number of dirty diapers from age 4 days or older. But there does not seem to be a consensus on the number of soiled diapers during day #1 through day #4. I have also heard at conferences that the number of stools is more indicative of adequate intake than the number of wet diapers. I need references, too. Not just opinions.
Thanks
Debbie
