I have a mom who's OB swears up and down that the mother has Raynaud's
syndrome, however after assisting mother with bf at a lactation visit, I
observed no blanching, no pain while latched (as long as baby is latched
well) only a poor latch, extremely flat nipples, possible posterior TT.
Mom not's that the "icy-hot" feeling she has in areola is worse upon
awaking with a full breast, or later in the early evening when out of
nowhere her areola's feel "icy-hot". She has been treated for thrush.
The OB insists it's Raynaud's and suggested more pumping to solve the
problem. I really don't see how that would help. Am I missing something
here?
