Linda
I don't mean this to sound facetious, but how about using a real
mother, or several real mothers with real lactating breasts? Many
years ago I was one member of a 3-part team who did this at a
conference. We managed to find a mother who would be willing to be
the demo model (bless her...). Professor Peter Hartmann was the
"teacher" who described the anatomy of the lactating breast, what
hand expression should look like and how it worked, I was the LC and
the demonstrator who carried out his instructions, and the mother was
the lactating breast. To my great relief it worked, we got milk
(!!) and there had been no practising beforehand... and the audience
of 200 or so health care providers including doctors, all learned something.
