Hello,
This is a very interesting subject and a lot of these statistics collected do lack accuracy. Dealing with mostly of our patients are WIC participants. Many patients when i see them one of my encouragement for exclusive breastfeeding is that the mom is on the program for 1 year and they get a lot more food provided to them when they are in the program. I didn't know exactly how much until 2 participants told me its only 32 dollars a month, and they explained to me that it is much more worthwhile to them to tell WIC they are formula feeding even though they are truly breastfeeding and sell the formula that they get from WIC. A lot of statistics are not as accurate, where you are right if the numbers don't do us justice. We always have to look at the statistics with a grain of salt.
