I have a mom with batches of expressed breast milk regularly turning up
with Bacillus cereus contamination - a worry, as it's spore-forming and
such a waste of milk. Perhaps the mother's pump cleaning method needs
tweaking (will investigate again), though her general hygiene practices
seem sound. Is it safe to blitz the pump parts with a medical biocide
solution, ie chlorine at the rate of 10 000 ppm?
I wondered if the plastic parts could absorb the chlorine smell and taint
the milk; also not sure if it would damage the more delicate parts.
Thanks for any help
