PTP - Mother works a 10 hour work day, full time in a hospital daycare. Her baby (still nurses frequently - one side each feeding and minimal solids - baby led solids) is 12 months old and is still in the infant room at the daycare. Mother has been allowed to nurse her baby or pump 3 times per day for first year. Administration is now not allowing her a third break, therefore, she will have 8 hours of no stimulation on one of her breasts. She is obviously very worried about her supply due to that engorgement. Administration says Illinois law only requires one year of pumping time, mother says law states "infant" (when mom asked why baby is still in the "infant room," admins had no response). Baby's MD has written a note to continue allowing break time, we have provided information on baby led solids and the benefits of nursing/pumping past one year to no avail. Is there anything else we can provide before mom to advocate for this breastfeeding relationship?
