Biting can be tricky. Usually toddlers start to bite at this age due to
teething pain. I would offer a cold washcloth or chewie first.
Toddlers can understand quite well, so I would explain to the toddler
that if they bite they can't nurse, be gentle, biting hurts mommy etc.
Usually at this age the drive to nurse is quite strong and they will
comply in order to nurse.
