Hello! I have noticed that when mothers begin adding solids, they tend to nurse the baby after, to give the baby a 'drink'. Once the baby is actually getting a full meal of solids in the tummy, the milk supply tends to decrease, as the baby fills up on solids and drinks less milk. At this age, I encourage moms to nurse before giving solids (and then after for a drink if they want), as she is still the baby's main source of nourishment. As the baby gets older, he may refuse to breastfeed first, but this will just be normal developmental progression.
