I've looked through the search feature and haven't found a thread applicable but I'm sure it has been discussed so sorry to be redundant. I'm working on starting in private practice in the next year or so. I'm working on figuring out if it's feasible and what I would have to charge and everything. I'm really struggling to figure out what my overhead would be. I plan to do home visits within 15 miles of my home. I'm in Oklahoma City in Oklahoma (USA). I just moved here 2 weeks ago from Oregon. I'm trying to work in conferences, professional memberships, etc in to my overhead. I think I have a good start. I'm reading The Lactation Consultant in Private Practice: The ABCs of Getting Started and have found a lot of information in there but it is a little outdated. I feel like I have a lot of good information but still feel like I can't figure it all out. Would anyone be willing to help me look over the numbers I have and point out what I may be missing? I want to start out right and not cast a burden on my family's finances and most importantly operate in the black as early as possible (meaning making sure I'm charging enough to cover all of my overhead).
