Excellent point, Rachel - thanks. A better approach in that case would be to point out that this deviation from protocol took place in X number of mothers, and to do an analysis by intent-to-treat and a separate analysis of the mothers who actually followed protocol, as both those analyses can give us different types of valuable information.
