I'm excited to offer this webinar and advocate for this model of care when a c/sec is needed (that's another topic). Dr. Camann has been instrumental in bringing this to the largest birthing hospital in MA, and other area hospitals are now feeling some pressure to follow. Are you seeing this model of care as an option in your hospitals as well?

Webinar on Family Centered Cesarean Birth (free)
A free upcoming webinar will address the topic of Family-Centered Cesarean Birth<https://cc.readytalk.com/r/wt0fospg2wat>. Scheduled for April 11th at 8pm ET and presented by William Camann, MD, Director of Obstetric Anesthesia at Brigham and Women's Hospital and Isis Parenting, the session will educate about this model of care to enhance early maternal-infant bonding, promote breastfeeding the first hour and improve a mother's experience of her baby's surgical birth.
For women who require a cesarean section, the mother/baby/family-centered approach changes the "culture" of the operating room for lower-risk surgical birth candidates. In no way is this an encouragement of cesarean section, but rather an approach to make the cesarean section more mother and baby "friendly" including skin to skin care immediately after birth, peri-operative breastfeeding, and delayed separation of mother/baby for routine care.
Those registered will receive link to event recording even if not able to attend live.
