PTP: I have a mom who has had repeated issues with Strep with her kids, up to 4-5x/yr, btw her 4yo and her 16 mo old. The 4 yo BRF for 2 yrs and her 16 mo still BRFs. This is what she just sent me: "The kids currently take Vitamin D, probiotics and we do a lot of hand washing. My 4 yo sucks her thumb when she sleeps. She's a "picker".....picks her nose/scabs :( Our diet is pretty darn good, very limited sugar, lots of fresh and organic stuff. No juice (unless on a playdate/birthday party), no dessert after dinner, no soda, no candy (unless it's Halloween/Easter)....we drink a lot of water. Her school has each kid wash their hands/hand sanitizer when they arrive."
Any ideas of how they might decrease these strep outbreaks? This mother is concerned about having to use antibiotics so much for her children.
Thank you, Donna
