I changed hospitals in Sept, moved further out in the suburbs/small townish. the infant feeding practices are 10 yrs behind of where I worked in St Paul. :-( Last Tuesday I was invited to Peds docs meeting to do a 'meet and greet.' There was Q and A for 10-12 minutes. One of the questions was "What can we say so we do not contradict what you are telling parents?" Oh my gosh!! what a great question!!! I said '#1 is always feed the baby, #2 promote the milk supply with pumping, #3 fix the breastfeeding over time.' I asked if they've been receiving copies of the charts and they all nodded yes and that it was helpful!! I said to feel free to refer to me, that I will spend 60-90 min with parents in the Breastfeeding Clinic and it is my passion. All in all, a very good meeting!! Thank you for your perspective, Gail. I belive Drs do the best job they possibly can. Susan in Mnrn ibclc
