I posted last week regarding the guidelines for documenting the reasons
for not exclusively breastfeeding as in what is Joint Commission's
definition of lactation consultant. Does anyone have an idea? Who is
documenting this in your hospital? Thanks for giving me your input.
Previous post:
It states that documentation by physician/advanced practice
nurse/physician assistant/certified nurse midwife/lactation consultant the
reason for not exclusively feeding breast milk during the entire
hospitalization......
Does "lactation consultant" mean an IBCLC only or can it include a CLC or
simply an RN working in the capacity of a lactation educator? I
appreciate your help in clarifying this.
