1986 article about infant feeding in Kenya - uses the term "triple nipple feeding" "Latham and his colleagues call the practice of combining successful breastfeeding with bottle-fed supplementation "triple nipple infant feeding" to emphasize that a child receives milk from the mother's breasts and a feeding bottle all in the same day. They are concerned that the practice is becoming more common in any countries and presents a new challenge to those concerned with public health. " Article discusses the decline in immunity, exposure to unsanitary conditions-dirty bottles and mis-mixture of formula resulting in malnutrition; financial stress with formula taking 32-67% of Kenyan worker's salary! and finally- undermines the contraceptive effect of BF.
