My experience with clients with EDS has been more in the direction of O/S. The trick to addressing pain though is nutrition--an anti-inflamamtory diet is so important for all Types of EDS (I am assuming you are referring to Type 3--hypermobility?).

Subject: Ehlersa Danlos Syndrome and milk producion
Hi Sally,
I have been working with a mother with Ehlersa Danlos for the past 6
months. She has never had a problem with supply, but has started to
experience galactoceles just near the nipple area. The stretching of
her ducts and other tissue is huge. She does also suffer from low
blood pressure, which is one of the common aspects of EHD. She is
determined to breastfeed for 12 months, but does find the pain
difficult. We have worked our ways to feed that are comfortable and
she does use a number of splints for support. And we are working on
managing the galactoceles.
So, the supply issues may be more due to the jaundice and P&A. Find
a comfortable manner for the mother to feed and work on ensuring good
breast drainage. The mother I am working with starting with a
reclining sofa and is now able to feed in a sitting
position. Although it probably helps that her baby is old enough to
do a lot of selfattachment.
