Scarlet fever is caused by group A strep, so people can get it over and
over again by contracting other species in this group. However, it is
easily treated by antibiotics and even if the baby got the germ they
would not be likely to get the scarlet fever manifestation. Since mom
lives with both children, she is probably providing antibodies to her
toddler.

Does her immunity offer the baby any protection/immunity? I am unable to find any information but I may be looking in the wrong places.
