You ask, discussing the study on the Effect of Early Limited Formula
on Duration and Exclusivity of Breastfeeding in At-Risk Infants: An
RCT"., you say "I don't see any mention of ties to industry under
'author affiliations'. can you be more specific about which author
you mean, and what those ties are?

In yesterday's Medscape Medical News under the astonishing title,
Formula Supplementation May Improve Breast-feeding Rates, Joe Barber
Jr, PhD, May 13, 2013,
at
http://www.medscape.com/viewarticle/804010?nlid=31283_1301&src=wnl_edit_dail&uac=144676FR
(you have to be subscribed to see it...) the last para says,

"The study was supported by funding from the National Institutes of
Health. One coauthor has served as a paid consultant for Abbott
Nutrition, Mead-Johnson, Nestle SA, and Pfizer Consumer Products. The
other authors and Dr. Furman have disclosed no relevant financial
relationships. "

No surprise there, right?

Pamela
