The problem with a super detox - or any detox, I guess - is that many
of things we want to "detox" from are in storage in our body fats.
Where do the toxins go? Well, we pee them out, poop them out, sweat
them out - and if we are breastfeeding, we feed them to our babies via
our milk.
That's why you don't want to go on a super-fast-reduction diet while
breastfeeding. Because you can't know what you've got (I'm sure I gave
DDT to my daughters at least, and the oldest gave it to my
grandsons....) the safest thing to do in this situation for YOU is to
give the mom the info and then let her make the choice. How much milk
is the 15 month old getting? How many toxins has he already received?
Should he get a bolus of them now??
So the herbs themselves may not be the biggest question. Although - if
you have enough herbals all at once, to me it's kinda like a
multi-drug regimen. There may be some nasty synergies - which others
might not think are nasty if they want to "detox".
