I'm glad I broadened this discussion. Yes, this is a good place to discuss
other ineffective pumps - and to mention any that have caused harm. (Well,
I guess a pump that is so ineffectiev that a mother gives up breastfeeding
indirectly causes harm, too.)
It is difficult for users (mothers) to report adverse events to the
appropriate agency in their countries, and unless they are reported, nothing
changes. Mothrs may need our help to find the websites and make the report.
Just stopping using the implement, or taking it back to the shop, may not be
enough. Regulatory agencies need to know, and if they get enough reports on
any machine and see a pattern, perhaps something will happen. At the very
least, these faults can be named in annual report.

Subject: 'Worst' Breast Pumps
I see there is discussion about the freestyle pump and bad reviews. I was
hoping we could share information on all types of pumps which we tend to
find troublesome for mothers. And if there are any certain pumps that work
better with different breast/nipple shapes?
I have also noticed that many mothers have difficulty with the Tommy Tippy
Pump as well.
For mothers that have extremely long nipples - what types of pumps have you
found to work the best?
