biliary atresia can cause clay colored stool; don't know if that's what you mean by brown. Yes, I'd call it to the attention of the pediatrician. I couldn't care less if s/he laughed at me. The brown stool isn't the only symptom you note. When concerned, the next step is to communicate and collaborate with the mother's or baby's doctor(s)
