Occasionally I see a baby who nurses with what I'd call an over-flanged
upper lip, where the upper lip is far turned up/outward--no matter how the
baby latches on.
When the baby comes off the breast, there is often a half-circle crease
visible on the upper lip where it was folded up. Usually the mother has
nipple pain.
Anybody else notice this? What are your thoughts on it (causes or
management)?
Thanks,
Susan Lawrence in Berkeley
