It's a corporate compliance issue in addition to a BFHI issue.
Hospitals do not give out samples of medication or supplements in any other unit. The reason? Tracking the lot #'s and expiration dates...in the event of a recall would be impossible. The hospital I currently work for is does not allow sample drugs to be given even in the clinic setting, for this very reason.
It's also unfair marketing. I tell our nursing staff if they're going to work for a formula company...they should demand to be paid. Because that's how they're being used.
