I agree with Rachel's and Maureen's
misgivings. Furthermore, a little google around
suggests that this product, made by Nestle, is
not even intended for babies. See

I also looked for Beneprotein for Babies, and
Beneprotein Human Milk Fortifier, and got
nothing. This would be of serious concern, not
to mention a Code violation if it doesn't
specifically give this warning on the packaging....
If the baby is well enough to receive EBM and
extra protein, why not discuss with the
neonatologist the possibility of increasing
protein intake by feeding _more_ EBM..... eg
instead of 150ml/kg/day then up this amount,
while monitoring the baby's condition, to
180ml/kg/day, and within a few more days to
210ml/kg/day as they do, with good outcomes, in
hospitals in developing countries where these
special potions and supplements are unavailable and unknown?
