We have donors of fresh milk screened exactly as they would if they were  
donating to a milk bank.  The recipient family also signs a release  
relieving the hospital of all responsibility if the infant becomes ill from the  
milk (rg CMV). Your hospital lawyer and MDs are unlikely to allow fresh,  
unscreened donor milk in the NICU unless some attempt is made to minimize  risk.
