Subject: Re: night training
My first thought is - How many *adults* sleep for 12 hours at night? Why in the world would the doctor expect a baby to do that?
I would reassure the mother that she has been doing a wonderful job with her responses to her baby, that the baby is more than just numbers on a scale, and if this suggestion feels wrong she should stick with her instincts and consider finding a doctor more in line with her approach to parenting. I would also suggest that if she leaves this doctor's practice that she writes and tells him why.
